Dear all do you now about limitation of programming ,when you use fail safe SIL3 format of S7 300/400??? for example is this true :with using the control system in mode SIL3 ,the CPU shutdown will be occurred in any partial download??? regards |

Hello Pourya; The only way to implement a SIL 3 level program with a S7-300 is to use a F-CPU (such as the S7-317F-2DP), F-IOs and the programmingpackage Distributed Safety (along with Step 7). And yes, downloads of the safety program to the PLCwill require you to go to STOP mode (or the CPU will shut down when you attempt it).
