I am involved in upgrading the existing WinCC 6.0 server-client system to WinCC 7.0 Server Client System. The system has old S5 and SIMADYN-D controllers from siemens and used PMC channel for communication. We have received the licenses from Siemens but no installation disk for these PMC channels. However my customer got the installable files through his contact in Siemens Metal Industry (Old). I have installed all the drivers and transferred the licenses to PC. But everytime I start the runtime, I get message pop-up saying the limited authorization or authorization expired. I am not sure what causing this. I read through readme file of the drivers installed and it says that I need Authorization DLL from siemens. I contacted siemens but still waiting for the response. If any one knows about this please reply to this thread.

Also during the installation of the SIMADYN-D PMC channel it asks me to install the Probi-setup but it fails. The setup runs in German language so it is hard to understand what it is trying to do.

Its a quite special topic.

you could try to look int the diagnostic files of WinCC in the Installationpath\diagnose

perhaps you find further information here.

But I would try to get Information or help from Siemens Support.

It would be hard to find a specialist here for this specific Comunication driver and software...

I checked the Diagnose folder and I found Diagnose files for PMC drivers that I installed. It repeats the same error info for all the attempts for starting runtime app.

Initially I didn't have the PMC driver installation files. WinCC created this diagnostic file for PmcChnDiag. After installing the PMC drivers, these errors went away but it started giving authorization errors.
