Hello Ola; I understand that this can be frustrating, but it does not have to be an unmitigated disaster for now. Look at the contents of the latest update announcement for HiGraph: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/25533929 The most important note is that version 5.3 SP1 supports Windows XP SP3, which means that at least for now you can extend the use of HiGraph using a VM system. So the existing projects can be implemented for some time. Until further news on the development of a replacement package comes from Siemens, this would be the best way to go for the moment Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello GoForIT as Daniel suggested, you can certainly throw S7-HiGraph a VM based lifeline for now and some years to come. Eventually though, you will have to rewrite your S7-HiGraph logic manually in some other S7 languageas the days of S7-HiGraph appear to be numbered (and there is no automatic conversion possible to another S7 languageas far as I'm aware). For one, the current S7-HiGraph V5.3 has entered the Product discontinuation phase in late 2010without the announcement of a successor version (nor does S7-HiGraph appear in any later catalogue or brochure). You can also not migrate S7-HiGraph blocksto TIA Portal Step 7 and there seems to intention to offer S7-HiGraph as an option for TIA Portal. In sums,S7-HiGraphseems to be dying a rather slow and agonising death (and a very quiet one for that matter). I suggest you get in touch with your local Siemens representative to get Siemens "official" statement on this matter so you can inform your customers accordingly (and pelase keep us posted should you find out more). I hope this helps |
Cheers |
