Simatic logon V1.4 with domaincontroller 2008R2

THOS Member Joined: 8/7/2007 Last visit: 12/18/2024 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello, We have two PCS7(7.0SP2 and 7.0SP3)server/clients applications running on a domain. The first domaincontroller was a 2003 DC. We've added a second DC, which is a 2008R2 DC,on the network and now we see that we still can connect in WinCC but we don't get the appropriate rights to view the screens. Is there a problem between simatic logon V1.4 and the DC 2008R2. And so, is there a solution available to manage this.

Jassh Posts: 41 Rating: (4)	Hello THOS. PCS 7 V7.x is not compatible to Windows server 2008! You have to wait for version PCS 7 V8 or use Windows server 2003. PCS 7 compatibility lists: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/2334224 greetings

ABN Posts: 212 Rating: (12)	hi, First of Simatic Logon compatibilty with 7.0 Sp2 an Sp3 is with some service packs of Simatic Logon PCS7 7.0 SP2 is compatible with SL V1.4 SP1 HF2 PCS7 7.0 SP3 is compatible with SL V1.4 SP3 for login related issue with DC please find info on http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/45057192

THOS Member Joined: 8/7/2007 Last visit: 12/18/2024 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	We've installedsimatic logon v1.4SP3 on the PCS7 v7.0SP3 and now it works, (Before it was v1.4SP1 HF3) This means that for PCS7 v7.0 SP2 we don't have an option, unless we also tryto install this version of simatic logon, despite the recommendations????
