anton.narbut Experienced Member Joined: 1/18/2017 Last visit: 11/14/2024 Posts: 54 Rating: (1)	Good morning! I have a SCADA workstation running on WinXP and SIMATIC NET software. Data exchange goes something like this: 3rd party SCADA client <-> 3rd party SERVER <-> Simatic.NET OPC <-> SImatic S7-300 PLC I want to put this workstation into virtual environment (VM Ware). So I've set up new virtual machine with WinXP. The following steps were: - SIMATIC.NET 2008 software installation - Station configuration setup (OPC server and IE General modules) - NCM PC Manager project edit: new IP address and network settings - Import station from .xdb or dowload from NCM Manager into station (tried both). PC Station is online, all components are in RUN and errors. - Configuration Console > OPC Settings > Security > "Allow" button clicked. I think this action configures all required DCOM settings on this PC. The quistion is: Is there anything else required for comissioning PC station and SIMATIC OPC server?

You are using XP so I think that you want to use OPC DA (not OPC UA). OPC DA uses DCOM Settings. you have also to look at your Windows User rights becaue the DCOM Communication uses same windows account on Server and Client. bye Murof

DCAM is based on Windows User Management and with same users its always the first test. Bye Murof
