SIMATIC NET - OPC SCOUT

hgq Posts: 83 Rating: (1)	Hello, I am encountering a problem while installing SIMATIC NET PC / Software Edition 2005. The installing procedure lasted for more than three hours and never go to the end point.Even after the "abort", "cancel" button were clicked, the procedure was not able to be terminated by the installing wizard. I had to terminate the procedure via Windows task manager. After that i checked the programs, a folder "SIMATIC NET" under "SIMATIC" appeared. Under SIMATIC NET, OPC Scoutwas available.When opening OPC Scout, all the launguagewere shown in Germany. After restarting the computer, and check the "Add / Remove software" in Control Panel,the SIMATIC NET PC / Software Edition 2005was found. Uninstalled it and repeated the installation, the same situation happened again. My purpose is to use OPC Scout to configure OPC client with the English language display. OS: Windows XP Pro version 2003 SP2. Please help. Thanks hgq

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello hgq, I know that especially with the Edition 2005 without Hotfix there are some issues with the Install Shield self registration that prevents the Software from working. I know that there is a solution that is provided by the SIMATIC NET Customer Support, but this Solution requires a larger Download. I think the best thing is that you firstly check the following FAQ: Error messages when installing the SIMATIC NET CD And than you please contact Customer Support. There you will get a FTP Link for this required Download. Best regards J_Bell
