Hi all,

We are running SIMATIC OPC Server V6.0.5 in a PC with OS Windows Server 2003 standard edition and three times every month it changes to demo mode and all PLC connections failed.

This server controls all critical communication tasks between PLC and we don't know what is the cause of this error.

It doesn't exists another OPC Server installed in other PC.

The windows system event log shows up this mesagge:

"SIMATIC NET Synchronization service: SIMATIC NET CORE Server S7

Timeout waiting for stopping other instance! Running in DEMO mode."

Can anybody help us?

How many PLC have you connected to SIMATIC NET OPC server?

Standard LICENSE can go up to 8 connections only.

We have 18 connections to PLC and we increase the licences for these connections.

Attach a report with the information about licences installed in PC.

Do you have installed an Anti Virus Software on the System?

If there is a Problem once in a while then is there another Event at this Time like Virus Scan  or Win Updates or something else?

Hi Murof, we haven't installed antivirus software in PC.

How can i verify that they are not corrupted licences, right licences number, etc?

send us a Screenshot of the License Manager in which we can see the used Licenses.

do a right Click on the Licence in Licence Manager and do a Check then you see if the License is damaged or not.

 Hi,

we have an application where this problem happened the first time after a long time already where we used the system without problems. We use the latest CD from Simatic.NET Lean and Windows Server 2012 R2 64bit.

Did you find a solution to your problem? We got 7 connections to PLCs btw.

Does anyone have more problems like these? Its happening also with us in our customer facilities. It has happen to me once and a reboot solved the problem. However client claims to have restarted the PC several times and did no solve the problem.

We have installed Simatic Net OPC v13 SP2 in a Windows 10 Pro x64 enviroment (without anti-virus), and just now we are getting problems like this.

It keeps launching a message of "Configuration of the SIMATIC PC station is not completed! Running in DEMO mode".

Does the Ethernet port need to be dedicated to the OPC interface?

I there are such misterious problems with the License or the OPC Server I would open a Service Request a SIemens Support. I´m sure they can help with troubleshooting.
