Hello, The main reason for the problem you are facing is that a classical Ethernet S7 connection runs over TCP (ISO on TCP). This connection is independent of the CPU. So when the individual CPU stops, itdoes not disconnect the network connection for the next CP card to connect. Ihave read many timesthat the only correct way to have real fault-tolerant connections between a PC and a S7-414H is to use S7-REDCONNECT. You need the following SIMATIC NET PC software if you wish to configure fault-tolerant S7 connections for communication between S7-400H system and PC station:
