Hello, This PC adapter get it's powersupply from the conected equipment (like plc) some equipment do not have this supply or wrong cable is used. In that case you must use an external powersupply. alternative is SIMATIC PG/PC - PROFIBUS PC Adapter USB A2 Operating InstructionsA Regards, Marcjan |

Hello, This Adapter works with Step7 because you get a 24V supply from the S7300. But when you want to communicate with 840D NCU you need to provide the 24vdc external then only it works... Check this FAQ link http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22821092 Regards, Prakash |

Hello, You can use this adapter by supplying external power, i have attached the schematics. But to be on the save side: To operate the PC Adapter USB to MPI/DP interfaces which do not have a 24V supply voltage, you can order an external power supply (order number: 6ES7 972-0CA00-0XA0).
