MJRVSV Posts: 166 Rating: (1)	Dear Sir Pl confirm if Simatic S7 PC Adapter USB 6ES7 972-0CB20 0XA0 can not be used with NCU because whenever v connect this with NCU, none of the three LEDs for Power, MPI, USB getting ON hence not getting connected but with this Simatic S7 PC Adapter USB 6ES7 972-0CB20 0XA0, v r able to get connected in case of standalone S7300 PLCs used in Paint Booth, Conveyor applications Kindly advice Regards, M. But when you want to communicate with 840D NCU you need to provide the 24vdc external then only it works... Rishikesh yes it is possible to use , you have to providing 24V on X121 not on X122 pleas read DOConCD or DOConWEB "Configuring the NCU 4.3 NCU module interfaces"

But to be on the save side: To operate the PC Adapter USB to MPI/DP interfaces which do not have a 24V supply voltage, you can order an external power supply (order number: 6ES7 972-0CA00-0XA0). There is a long distance between PLC and PC.(<50 m) I will use MPI protocol.I have profibus cable and adapters so i have to provide 24V for this adapter. Because this cable has only two wire for comm. I want to ask a question. Do i have to use PLC's 24VDC power supply for adapter or can i use external power supply near by PC?
