Houst PC Win7 64-bit, step7 5.5 + SP4 + HF11 Vmware 12.1 PCAdapter A2 software v1.0. Virtual image. Win7 32-bit step7 5.5 + SP4 + HF11, PCAdapter A2 software v1.0. In PC Houst communication with S7 functions faultless. In Vmware window appears the icon of adapter A2 USB PC when I ask to connect an error occurs that can not be specified by VMware. miami Platinum Expert Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 8/20/2024 Posts: 2198 Rating: (328)	With Win7 you must have a NECxHCI chip (>=VMware V8) or an Intel controllers set (>=VMware V12) to virtulize a USB3 Port. (see https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2128105) Or you use a USB 2.0 only port of your Host PC. In this case the USB2.0 must not be under a USB 3.0 Hostcontroller. You can check this with the "USB Device Tree Viewer" fro this page. In the attached screenshot the PC adapter must not be found under the USB 3.0 Hostcontroller (blue marked), but under one of the USB Enhanced Host controllers (USB Enhanced means USB 2.0) Attachment Bild1.png (111 Downloads)

I found that my houst pc has very little ram, so I've already downgraded to 8GB. That leaves more memory for virtualization. Thank you all for your interest in helping.
