Simatic Step 7 network monitoring

BartB Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I am having difficulty monitoring a network with Simatic Step 7 on a 300 PLC. I am able to connect to the PLC, download and upload but when I try to monitor a network on line in the ladder logic I get nothing. The PLC has been placed in Run as well as Program/Run. On the software I get a green Runbanner on the bottom but it does not cycle as I have seen it in the past when I monitor a network while online. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

LA_COLD Posts: 24 Rating: (8)	It sounds like the FC or FB you are looking at is not called anywhere. Do you see the same thing when you open and monitor OB1?

BartB Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the responce LA_COLD. I can't monitor any network or OB1. If I log onto a seperate PLC in our facility I can monitor everything normally. I feel it must be something simple or a setting I am not aware of but I just can't figure it out.

BartB Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I would like to thank those who viewed and offered suggstions for my issue. I switched to a new cable/adapter between the PLC and laptop and everything is working again. I don't fully understand how I was able to communicate, upload, download and save with the other cable but not monitor but the new cable works. Thanks again
