A typical blurb on Siemens.com: SIMETAL^CISSIMELT The fully automatic electrode control in electric arc furnaces and ladle furnaces – with artificial intelligence thanks to neural net Simelt is based on PCS7 hardware and architecture. But there are probably some hardware add-ons, and certainly dedicated function blocks and MES interfaces that will only be revealed to application clients. This system is used to control the electrode position in electric arc furnaces to control current,voltage and other electrical parameters. 2) How it works with Simatic S7 hardware? It is nothing but a PLC program which works based on the current and voltage feedback. 3) What other software packages do I need to use Simelt? For visualization purposed they have winCC ,where all the parameters can be configured like control parameters( electrode speed,PI controller,overcurrent and short circuit , impedance etc. etc.), some softwares for reporting and analyzing the system. 4) Do I need any special hardware other than regular hardware? yes, current,voltage,power transducers. 5) Any other available information. What exect you need more....Please specify.
