Hello, general there are two ways: 1.) Using the fixed process image of the BackgroundTask When the I/O Adresses of the IM is in the space 0 .. 63 then you can access the I/O directly in program with the syntax %In.x or %Qn.x (n=byteadress, x=bitadress). 2.) Via direct access with I/O variables This is the way you describe in you post an works for adresses >=64.
