alex_krylov Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi, all. I have S7 controller and several dp slaves (sinamics, simocode, etc). How can I perform an effective diagnosis of these slaves from step7 programm. I need to know in step7 ether dp slave connected to profibus or not, no additional warnings or alarms needed. Thanks in advance, alex

Thanks in advance, alex Hello, On Which S7 Contorller you are working with? In case of Simatic Manager , you can connect with PLC on MPI and see the accessible nodes which give slave number of particular DP Slave Devices. Hope this helps.

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi, there are many ways to catch the goal: 1. using report system error --> try this FAQ: SINAMICS, SIMATIC: How to use the SIMATIC function "Report System Errors" Diagnostic also with HMI. 2. Using the OB 86 which will be called if aslave will fail or be disconnected. Problem this OB will be only called in case of a fault in other case there is no call, because everything is fine. 3. Using SFC13 Reading DP-Slave norm diagnostic information from salve and read operational state. This call can be used in OB1 to all salves (Siemens or not Siemens),because it is reading the standard diagnostic from PROFIBUS DP specification.

alex_krylov Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I did the following: In step7 wrote a code from example with sfc51. SSL_ID = 00B4 INDEX = diagnostic address of dp-slave SFC51 returned array of 6 bytes (lenght_dr=6). The first of these bytes in a case of profibus break is "B#16#01", in a situation with a normal connection first byte is "B#16#00". So, i need to analyse this byte and if it not "B#16#00" then my program will know that it has no connection with this dp-slave.

alex_krylov Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I decided to make a code that place state of dp-slave in a bit. The code is evaluating dp-address, and setting bit of life in accordance with ob86 parameters. In my current project i have over 50 dp slaves, so i minimised code using pointers. DP addres is transformed into a poiner to the bit. (example: dp address 5 is changing bit m5.0, address 10 is changing bit M10.0 and so on) When bits are changed by OB86 (which works only one cycle), i can run other code if needed in cyclical OBs.
