Denilson Pegaia Platinum Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 3/21/2025 Posts: 4406 Rating: (1475)	Hi, As from TIA V19 up2 there is a new system function that allow change the user without manual user/password enter by user: SetLocalUser(alias) (or in a script as HMIRuntime.UI.UserManagement.SysFct.SetLocalUser(alias)) Alias should be a tag or IO field that contains the new user alias name. TIPs: This system function is available just to WinCC Unified RT and HMI Unified Comfort. Alias is the user’s alias name. Alias name is different as user name. It could be set in TIA in Security settings > User and rules > User. The column “” is hidden as default. To show it click on the User table column header > right mouse button > Show/Hide … > Alias The alias settings there must match with the “User Management Setting” For Unified PC select the option "Activate login with RFID" in the settings in the WinCC Unified Configuration Manager (it would be also set for HMI simulation) Special thanks to Mr. Marco Polster for the tips. sample project Attachment ForumV19up2_20240521_1343_20240524_0704.zip (508 Downloads)

I tried this, and as long as you are on the Server Everything works fine. Then i try it from a Client. And it doesn't work. After 3 hours of troubleshooting, i have a remote desktop to the server on one screen and a client on another screen. When i try to change user with the SetLocalUser function on the server it works, And now the kikker, when i try to change user on the Client it changes the user on the server seccion. What a useless function is this? how can this ever pass QA? and if the function is not meant to be used from a Client session then block the call to it and give an error. I'm Using PC Runtime V19.0.0.2

User change using "SetLocalUser" The "SetLocalUser" system function is only supported for the local user management. ..." I conclude, in this context, that it just works on the server (at least up to now, V19, up3), and could still be used in single station / HMI applications.
