As from V17 there is also a system variable, @DiagnosticsIndicatorTag, that indicates the diagnostic status.

Possible values and general colors used with:

• 0 Uncertain (gray)
• 1 Good (green)
• 2 Maintenance (Yellow)
• 3 Error (red)

• Diagnostics View
• Matrix View
• Distributed IO View

• The views could be configured in the object properties > general > View Type
• Distributed IO view works if only one PLC with one PROFINET IO system is configured, otherwise, the RT jumps to the Diagnostic overview
• It is also possible to use the system functions “to ExecuteToolBarButton” to control this object from external buttons
