Simulate SIWAREX HMI with PLCSIM

Good day experts!

Very good thing about SIWAREX is there's a free downloadable project with codes for the FB45 and complete HMI screens for parameterization:

I tried to simulate the program and HMI, so far the parameter values are responding (HMI values transfered to Scale DB9), for instance the DR3 parameters.

My question is, how can I simulate the main scale weight value itself? 

I tried to simulate values on the SIWAREX Hardware Address. It has 8 WORDS, and I found out the 2nd and 3rd WORD corresponds to CH1 Gross Weight and CH1 Digit Value. But even I put some values (which is reflected on the FB45), the HMI scale value is still 0.

I also tried to press "calib zero point" and "calib defined weight" still 0. Do I also need to simulate values on the other part of the 8 WORDS hardware address?

By the way, I noticed on DB9, the variable i_CMD_CODE_INPUT is fluctuating with value 231 & 232 (seems coming from s_CMD_3), as well as BOOL variables bo_CMD_EN and bo_CMD_FINISHED_OK fluctuating TRUE and FALSE.

Though commands from HMI (at s_CMD_2, e.g., 403, 1,2, etc.) seems also being transferred to i_CMD_CODE but quickly being replaced by this 231/232 fluctuation. 

Ok after some reading, it would seems my SIWA_U FB45 got an error 8, that come from the fact that I don't have the hardware and only using PLCSIM. 

Is this the reason I can't calibrate and simulate the scale weight value?

If your HMI scale value is still 0:
Take a look to the address of that Output-field of the HMI-panel:
This address has to be changed by yourself in the DB-Scale.

I've checked this already, it's the DB9.DBW100 (i_GROSS_CH1). I thought I won't be able to modify this variable on the DB because obviously this is the main output/calculated value, program must have been writing on it. But after you suggest to try changing it manually, I was surprised that it can be modified!lol. How is this possible? Isn't it being written by the program/FB45??

But anyway it isn't the point. What I want of course is to see how the program derives the value from the raw digital value and calibration..

You can’t execute the commands "calib zero point" and "calib defined weight", if there is no load cell connected to the Siwarex U hardware module!

If you would like to simulate a weight value and execute all commands, you have to connect a load cell or a load cell simulator to your Siwarex U hardware module.

If you don’t have a Siwarex U module in your office, then you can’t execute the commands "calib zero point" and "calib defined weight"!
Here, you can only manipulate the values in the DB_Scale by yourself.

If this is the case, then this is the reason I'm unable to derive value on i_GROSS_CH1, because I'm only using PLCSIM. 

But I still wonder maybe there's a way. Because I can simulate value on w_ADC_VALUE_FILTERED_CH1 (by simulating hardware address IW260) which is the digital value that comes from the load cell right? Isn't it the only variable needed for calibration? 

Maybe I can also simulate the connection. Maybe the first or second bye IB256/IB257 which seems corresponds to "b_SCALE STATUS_CH1"?

DB9.DBW100 (i_GROSS_CH1) belongs to DR31.
DR31 is read every 100 ms from the Siwarex U module to the DB_Scale via the OB35 (command „231“).
But the FB45 can not read the DR31 from the Siwarex U module, because you don’t have connected a Siwarex U module to the PLC!
Therefore the FB45 doesn’t overwrite the DR31-values in the Scale-DB.

The transformation from the raw value to a weight value isn’t done in the FB45, but in the Siwarex U module internal.
The Siwarex U module calculates internal every 20ms a new weight value.
This weight value is send to the PLC together with the raw value.

You can’t simulate the communication between the FB45 and the Siwarex U module.

I see, if that's the case, I think I understand now why I can't simulate the calculated weight value..

It's like the "GROSS1" (GROSS_WEIGHT_CH1) from the FB45 interface itself that I can directly simulate from the HW address (meaning coming from the module itself). 

By the way, what is the difference of this i_GROSS_CH1 (DB9.DBW100) to that GROSS_WEIGHT_CH1?
