Hello guys! Here is my problem description: I have PAS CC station preconfigured to get signals from six relays (basically 7SJ6...). Communication is organised with MMS and everything is working fine. Now I have a task to simulate these six relays. Main problem is to "cheat" PAS CC and make him think that relays are real. I tried to capture/record traffic between PAS and relays with Wireshark, and then play this .pcap file with tcpreplay tool. Nothing happens and communication cannot be started. Do you have any ideas of how to simulate this relays and make PAS CC think they are real? I need it for laboratory use, to measure the load on PAS CC depending of tags and communication. I also found61850 test harnesssuite, but i'm not sure it is suitable for my task. Please point me the way to think) I'm not very experienced with substation automation. Thanks in advance! |

Hi you cannot simply record the ethernet traffic and put it back in the network. In all communication protocols, including industrial ones like modbus, the master/client must request data. If data wasn't requested, master/client will ignore them. What you did works for GOOSE messages, since the publisher simply sends the message to the network. If you have Sicam SCC direclty connected to Siprotec - PASCC is the old name and the versions with these name don't support 61850 - you can use IED simulators like Sicam PTS https://w3.siemens.com/smartgrid/global/en/products-systems-solutions/substation-automation/Engineering-Software/Pages/SICAM-Protocol-Test-System.aspx or others found in the market, like the one you mention from Triangle Microworks. I have only experience with Sicam PTS and it can simulate at least 200 IEDs on a single computer (don't recall the exact amount now). Mike |

newdiscussion started by goran000is split to a seperate thread with the subject simulation of ca 90 Siprotec4 relays on Profibus DP. The follow updiscussion published by olloyis split to a seperate thread with the subject documention to the hint that in PAS max 2 CP cards with 30 devices on each should be used?
