Hello.

Simulating a WinCC (TIA Portal) project crashes my Windows 10 computer. Are there any suggestions on how to diagnose origin of the problem?

The problem was noticed after installing TIA Portal V15.1, but it may have been a problem sooner. A colleague at work with the same PC hardware and relative same software configurations do not have the same issue.

- License: Step7/WinCC V15 Basic

TESTS ALREADY COMPLETED

Method:
A new TIA project is generated for each installed WinCC version. A Step7 project hosts a CPU1214 and the WinCC project hosts a KTP700. One PLC integer tag is linked and displayed on a KTP700 page.

When Windows crashes:
The compiling action takes places and is completed normally. Then the HMI graphic window is generated normally. The screen and the input-output object is shown for a very short moment before Windows crashes with a blue screen message.

Variation on the theme:  (Exclude V13.0.2.0)
An expected simulation is possible if there are no PLC tags linked to the HMI. For this case there can be no tags or only internal HMI tags. Internal tags are handled in an expected way. As soon as PLC tags are added, the simulation will crash the PC.

Any news about this?

Did anyone find the solution please can help me to fix it 

The problem was solved

after uninstalling some unused drivers and a virtual COM port that I created to connect a Bluetooth device to a COM port.

I also deleted all the Bluetooth devices and some USB storage drivers

if the problem is not solved and your PC is equipped with AMD graphic card  I recommend to disable it .
