Simulation TP700/1500 Comfort with PLC Connected

Dear Support,

I have a project with TIA Portal V13 SP1, it includes a PLC S7-1516 connected to my PC by local network. The communication between PLC and my PC is ok, but i want to simulate a Touch Panel TP1500 Comfort that i will receive later. I tried the simulation function on TIA Portal but i have no communication between PLC and simulated TP on my PC.

My PG/PC interface is setup correctly and everything looks fine but the tags are never animated on simulated interface of TP.

Firstly, I would like to know if it is possible to make this kind of configuration ? Real PLC+ TP Comfort Simulated ?

Secondly, if yes, do i have to set a specific configuration in TIA Portal in order to make it works ? Network and/or hardware?

I tried many things and a colleague as well with a different PLC and PC but no solution.

If there is a procedure to follow, where can i find it ?

Yes, it is possible.

Please go to Control panel of your PC.

Here you will find "Set PG/PC interface" (Icon view)

Please check if there is set:   S7Online -> TCP/IP (ethernet card of PC)

check the properties of your Connection in TIA.

Sometimes the Access Path on HMI is set to S7ONLINE1 insteed of S7ONLINE.

So remove the 1 an then it should work.

i checked the HMI connection configuration and i have S7ONLINE correctly configured.

One more question, does the IP configured is important ? I mean, do i have to set the same IP than the PC used to make simulation ? I use currently the IP of the PC for the TP.

no the IP is not relevant if you have a valid IP configured on the PC.

Can you provide a Screen of the HMI Connection Settings and the PG/PC Settings fron Windows control panel?

You will find the snpashot of my pg/pc config and the HMI connection in attachment

My PG/PC is ok because i can communicate with the PLC and animate tags of the PLC on watch tags table.

Thank you but i don't use PLCSIM, i have a real PLC connected. That doesn't help to know information about PLCSim.

Could it be that you need to allow access for the HMI to communicate with the PLC?

In the PLC project look in the PLC properties under "Protection".

Check that there is "Full Access" (or at least HMI access) or verify that you have the same password in the "Connection" created in the TP1500 HMI.

Also put a checkmark in "Permit access with PUT/GET ...".
