sinamic s120 fault 7410 - is there a way to neglect this fault?

Hi,

I am using Sinamics S120 for a third party Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. However, this fault keep showing up when the motor ramp down from 1800rpm to 0rpm. 

Please advice is there anyway to bypass the monitoring from the condition "I_act = 0 and Uq_set_1 longer than 16 ms at its limit" or anyway that can neglect this fault?

Hello,

The significance of this fault in relation with description is torque/current set limit is exceeded & this cannot be bypassed or deactivate. To overcome this problem you need to check setting in controller e.g. check if ramp down time can be increased, accleration/deaccleration of axis can be modified etc. etc.

If you have a regen drive and forgot to enable regen, that could cause a fault during ramp down when it is ramping down faster than it can absorb the motor's energy.

If it is a non-regen drive and the DC braking resistor is not large enough, same thing happens when ramping down too fast.

There are ways to improve DC braking.  Contact a company specializing in DC braking resistors and they can help design a DC brake setup that can improve ramp down energy absorption.

If you happen to have another drive one size larger and the right DC brake for that drive, you can swap them out and ramp down faster without faults.

If you have more money, time, and space available in the enclosure, you can install a regen drive of the appropriate size (Use Siemens Sizer software to figure it out) and ramp down faster without a fault.

If you attempt to ignore the fault, you will reduce the life of the drive, perhaps even to a single ramp down.
