Hello henno2000; Is it imperative that you use 3rd-party radio modems? Sinaut offers their own wireless modems that are designed for applications where Siemens PLCs are to be connected, exchange data and programmed. For example: GSM/GPRS modem Siemens A&D: The SINAUT modem MD740-1 from Siemens Automation & Drives makes is possible for the Siemens SINAUT ST7 system to transmit data cost-effectively via a GSM mobile radio network using the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service). The MD740-1 can be used wherever GSM mobile radio providers make the GPRS service available to facilitate wireless communication between SINAUT ST7 stations. SINAUT communication via GPRS requires either the TIM 3V-IE or TIM 3V-IE Advanced in the station. Wireless-connection SINAUT ST7 outside stations can be permanently controlled (not just online monitoring) with low initial investment and operating costs. Planning and commissioning of GPRS-connected outside stations does not require any mobile radio expertise. Thanks to Internet connections between mobile radio provider and OPC server. Encrypted data transmission is via IPSec-based VPN and firewall. All modems connect to the central stations via VPN. This means that controllers can communicate with one another in both directions via the central stations using the VPN tunnel. Your own VPN means that you don't need one to be installed by the mobile radio provider. Source: Industrial Wireless Book Issue 18:14 |
