Ahmed.tn Bronze Member Joined: 11/10/2010 Last visit: 1/27/2025 Posts: 171 Rating: (9)	Good morning every body i have a standar modem GSM/GPRS (wavecom) to use with s7200 to communicate with wincc via sinaut micro sc opc server i find all the examples uring MD720, can't i use wavecom modem to comunicate with wincc ? if yes how to load settings of the wavecom modem ? thanks all, i really need help :)

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi, i'm afraid there is none since the communication MD<>MICRO SC uses a proprietary protocol called MSC. -> A different modem can't work.

SSSeif Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Sèlèm (Hi all) i'm loking for this examples: see attachment where the modem (md720-3) was connected to the plc with a ppi/rs232 converter cable... and many modems have the rs232 input! but the problem is how to use a standard modem in OPC mode (not in terminal mode) and is this necessary?? [[the difference between modes was described in the manual of md720-3 (C79000-G8976-C211)]]... Attachment pictures.zip (129 Downloads)

SSSeif Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	good morning... i want to make communication between a PLC (s7-200) and my PC (my laptop) via internet! and i mean with communication the use of step7microWin and winCC... after reserch i found examples with a MD720-3 modem but this device is not disponible, added to this this is my terminal study project so i must find another solution...

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi, ok so you need both remote access and data transmission. Remote access can be done with TS adapter, about data transmission i am not 100% sure. Especially since you will need some kind of OPC server so WinCC can access the data. Have you ever asked the support / presales about this?
