single mode cable 9/125 and 8.3/125 with OLM G11

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 3/26/2025 Posts: 3042 Rating: (1061)	Walid Elshazly Not like as you said , OLM G11 can be used with single mode or multimode I will need to agree with rusli sajaon this one and say that you can NOT use an OLM G11 ( 6GK1 503-2CB00) with single mode fiber. You can however use an OLM G11-1300 (6GK1 503-2CC00) with single (as well asmultimode) fiber (see chapter 4 of the OLM manual for more). As for the question about "the availabilty of using 8.3/125 cable with OLM G11 (1300)", I can only speculate that it is possible as Ihaven't tried it myself yet nor verified this by any other means. While themanuallists 9/125as supported,both are single mode fiber cables and I can't see why the 8.3/125wouldn't work. If you want to be sure,I suggest you send a support request to Siemens and I hope this helps.
