sinumerik 3G 228 error "spindle dirty"

Steelworker Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I have a sinumerik 3G system on a peddimat drilling machine. I am receiving a 228 error. I know that this refers to encoder contamination. I would like to ignore this error if possible. How should I go about resolving this problem. The machine has all rotary encoders. John Schneider

Think, you must more disabled. - You can not make M19 ( I think, to positioniering you need perhaps this Encoder) - As sample, Spindle RMP reached. (Feed enable if Spindle rpm is O.K.) - You needing when you work with rpm/m feeding. - Spindle is standing (You need this "signal" for automatic Toolchange) Do you now wish disabled Encoder ?

The machine does not have a tool changer. I think I can disablethe encodertemporarily to see if we can get past the error.I have attached an abridged set ofdocumentation. denzilg_sa Bronze Member Joined: 7/5/2007 Last visit: 3/13/2025 Posts: 77 Rating: (5)	Hi This alarm is generated from an encoder using a EXE 600/ 601, This will normally be fittedto the grinding wheel, This alarm can not be de activaited as with the newer controllers, and it would be advisable to have the encoder checked. All axis and spindle speeds will be displayed as normal but the signal are incorrect amplitude and needs servicing Regards Denzilg

The machine does have have 2 EXE605 A/5-F "encoder conditioners". are these indeed encoder contamination detectors?Do you still think I have a bad encoder? Like you said, They check out okay from a feedback standpoint. I will attach a abridged set of docomentation for your review. This stupid thing is driving me crazy!
