Sinumerik 840 D - Coolant pressure and flow control

jimmi_swe Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi, Experts! I have some questions and wonder if you can help me with them. The machine is a hermle C50 U with sinumerik 840D pl controller. 1. About coolant, can we measure the coolant pressure and coolant flow somehow? 2. Can we change the coolant pressure and flow during the machining? I mean, in the NC program, can we program it, so in some way we change the pressure and flow during the machining? 3. Can we measure the spindle power? If yes, how to do that? Does it exist as a signal or parameter? Thank you for your time!

Depending upon input sensor types necessary hardware needs to be incorporated & PLC logic to be modified. With all this you can read those parameters in your system. jimmi_swe Hi, Experts! 2. (see picture in attachment) Question is now how to read the value of the sensors from the NC? I mean, can we connect the sensors to PLC somehow and then modified the PLC logic and save the value in some R-parameters? If the answer is yes, does the value update continuously? Hello, You need to select sensor first depending upon the parameters you want measure &control like flow rate, pressure, min & max etc. Then from input sensor feedback values whether it is 0-10 volt or 4-20 mA etc you need to select PLC analoge modules. Same case for out put devices like solonide valve, flow control valve, PLC out put modules needs to be selected. Your PLC HW as well as s/w logic needs to be modified as well NC logic also (R parameters, M codes configuration). Then you can achieve your requirement. While selecting PLC modules, its compitability needs to be confirm. I suggest you to contact your local Siemens service support for this engineering. Also selection of sensor & their comptability to be checked properly. Regarding value updatation, what is your requirement? How precisely you want? Itdepends upon your sensor & out put devices. Because NC, PLC scaning time is in ms, so, have a proper engineering about the input sensors, coolant system & out put devices & then proceed further. Hope this help you.

Hello, Please check the values in MD 9428 & 9429. These should be 100. If not set to 100, switch Off & again switch ON power. This should display the actual spindle power in % as well as in form ofbar.
