Sinumerik 840D sl with SME20

Hossein81 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi I'm trying to connect LS 187C "Heidenhain" linear scales, with 1Vpp output signals to Sinumerik 840D SL. I used SME20 to convert the signals to DRIVE-CLIQ. The problem is the controller doesn’t recognize the linear scale, and on the configuration diagram on screen we cannot find the attached linear scale. Is thelinear scale compatible with the NCU? What could be the source of our problem? Thanks, Hossein

CNC600 Silver Member Joined: 10/27/2009 Last visit: 3/15/2024 Posts: 455 Rating: (77)	the linear scale LS187C is a "standard encoder" with 1Vpp, distance coded. no problem for SINAMICS/SINUMERIK. Out of my point of view the problems occure out of miscabeling in between the encoder and the SME20.
