SIPAN 34 PH Controller Setup ?

Hi all, I cant seem to get the Controller in my new SIPAN 34 setup!

I want to control PH at 10.5 with caustic addition only.

Can someone give me some examples of settings for this, I've been through the book and tried all sorts of settings but the controller is in error and tells me configuration is not correct!

Type is Pulse (opening a valve)

Setpoint: 10.5
Neutral: ?
Start: ?
End: ?

Point 1: ?
Point 1: + xx % ?
Reset Time: ?

Point 2: ?
Point 2: + xx % ?
Reset Time: ?

i'll try to give answer: Type is pulse ( You can chose pulse frequency controller or pulse lenght conroller ) Let's say pulse frequency controller.The pulse frequency controller varies the frequency at which the contact is switched ( control the valve in your case). Min. ON time is 0.5s.

Setpiont - 10.5 pH; Of cource• setpoint < end; setpoint > start; end > start is valid. Depends of yor project this values can be: Start = ( signal ON VALVE ) = 10.25 ; End= (signal OFF VALVE) = 10.75 ; Neutral = 0.2

The other values also must keep equels: start < point 1 and setpoint – neutral range / 2 > point 1,
end < point 2 and setpoint + neutral range / 2 > point 2

point1 = 10.3pH point1 = +25%, point2 = 10.7 point2 = +25% reset time put 000s. (You can use the reset time to set the integral component of the controller. The I component is switched off if the reset time is set to 000 sec. The reset time can be set differently for the two control branches.

May be this not the right values, change this values, but keep the equels.

Thanks very much, the controller is now operating.

The type is Pulse Length.

I am dosing caustic directly into a 36000 ltr water tank, the ph probe is on the circulation line.

There will be quite a long deadtime between the caustic dosing and the ph probe seeing the effect. Id like the system to dose for perhaps 60 seconds then wait for 10 minutes before dosing again.

Is this possible using only the SIPAN 34 controller or should i take the 4..20 back to a plc and use the plc for control ?

What's happend if you put T (Minimum ON) duration = 60s and period of cycle to 600s.? ( what's happend with pH.?) I think SIPAN 34 can do this, but how must organize logic... . In the other way, you will buy SIPAN only to read pH. (not correct but easier).
