SIPART DR22/24 CONTROLLERS

kaif1968 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I have SIPART DR22/24 Controllers,and i am using these devices for first time for my application.I require several clarifications from forums friends.Are function wise both controllers are same?Did any one usedthese controllers for Boiler drum level three element control system which is my application. ?If anyone has control scheme kindly explain in detail.Also is these controllers have ratio/bias math function? I highly apppreciate for reply of these querries.

SonicRanger Posts: 151 Rating: (8)	Hi kaif1968, The DR22 and 24 may look similar, they are totally different. In the DR22, there are some templates (i guess +/- 12) around which you build your control application. You can add some math functions to signals, but with some restrictions. The DR24 is a totally free programmable unit (more like a PLC), with a large library with analog function blocks. The DR22 can be programmed with Simatic PDM, for the DR24 you have to use the graphical design applcation "Siprom DR24". I recommend you to read the manual of the DR22 (check also the examples), and check if you can build your application in this unit (in 95%, the DR22 can do the job). If you need some special control structures or math, then maybe you have to use the DR24. Controlling a boiler drum level doesn't seem to be too difficult for the DR22, but you have to check it by yourself. Best Regards, SonicRanger.
