SIPROTEC Profibus communication with 315-2dp

Dear Experts,


We have CPU315-2dp need to communicate with SIPROTEC siemens Relay SR12(6 numbers) by Profibus communication

Can you please suggest which block is need to be used

How to establish communication,possible with example

Notice (from a quick view of the various posts above)you will need 3 things to setup a Profibus-DP exchange with a S7 CPU: the gsd file of the particular relay, the mappings available for the specific relay (you must select one that gives you the information you require) and DIGSI 4 software to configure the relays (you must setup the Profibus address and parameters, and configure the selected mapping on the relay).

Since I cannot recognize the part number you are showing for your relay, it is difficult to give you straight information on the subject. Ab=nd since my only experience with Siprotec relays lies with Profibus-DP communications, this is the information I can provide.

First thing, remember that Siprotec relays are not a product of Siemens Automation and Drives (which hosts this forum), but is developped by another division, Siemens Energy. The divisions do not share ressources, so all information we can gicve you comes from the manuals they publish on the web.
Start by having a look at various threads on Siprotec relays available on the forum:

GSD files

You need GSD files for parameterization of the PROFIBUS-DP master: •

PROFIBUS communication modules up to hardware revision 3:

• "siem80a1.gsd" (for PROFIBUS modules with RS485 interface) and • "siem80bc.gsd" (for PROFIBUS modules with fibre-optical interface).

• PROFIBUS communication modules from hardware revision 4

• "si1_80a1.gsd" (for PROFIBUS modules with RS485 interface) and • "si1_80bc.gsd" (for PROFIBUS modules with fibre-optical interface).

Together with standard mappings 1...n or 2-1...2-n, always the GSD file "siem80a1.gsd" is used (independent whether RS485 or fibre-optical module).
