Dear, A little query about the Sitrans P DS III pressure transmitter. The distance between a Pressure transmitter and a receiving RTU is around 300 meters. Kindly Confirm if this transmitter can communicate to the RTU input module with such distance with a 24Vdc supply to RTU in the receiving station. For Profibus, you'll have to look it or have someone else tell you. For 4-20mA, that's the Output Load spec in the catalog sheet is - an equation to calculate the maximum loop resistance for a given power supply voltage. https://s28.postimg.org/66bh2et7x/loop_resistance_max_for_DSIII.jpg R(total) =< UH - 10.5V/0.023A in ohms where UH is the Power Supply voltage (V) Do the arithmetic for your power supply voltage and see the maximum loop resistance that can be driven. Then add the RTU's analog input resistance value to the sum of the out-and-back wire resistance (600m total for out and back) to see if the total loop resistance is less than the maximum given by the equation. |
