SIWAREX CS SIWATOOL COMMUNICATION PROBLEM

slabyG Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a problem with setting up communication betweet siwarex CS and PC(SIWATOOL CS). I've made connection cable according to the datasheet and it's working fine when I'm using it for connecting siwarex U and PC(siwatool U). A have read datasheets and all seems to be clear (PIN 15- RXD,PIN12-TXD, PIN16-GND), but it's not working. The only difference between the datasheet and my siwarex CS is that I'm using a different terminal module than the one at the connection areas figure in datasheet (with additional aux line) .I've tried to swap rxd and txd line to eliminate wrong pinout and checked usb<->rs232 converter(loopback). Does anyone know if there is any special trick to set up this connection or maybe I have to change something in my system? (winXP)

ABenno Posts: 206 Rating: (22)	Hi slabyG, the USB<->RS232 might be the problem. The communication the the Siwarex CS ia a little differnt to the Siwarex U. We have tested some converters and found one that is working for sure. See FAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/28391503. Regards ABenno
