Siwarex FTC and PLC issue

TheKoen Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hey all, I've been playing with the FTC module with a Siemens WL250 loadcell. I am able to connect to the module with SiwaTool and that's working fine, however when I try to get it to work in my PLC (317) with an ET200M RIO it's giving me issues. I'm calling FB43 and FC30 as to the example, but not the error messages. What ever command i'm trying to send via the "DB_SCALE_FTC".s_CMD1.i_CMD1_Code and the trigger i'm getting no response what so ever. If I look at the FB43 block "DB_SCALE_FTC".bo_FB_ERR = 1 "DB_SCALE_FTC".b_FB_ERR_CODE = 8 "DB_SCALE_FTC".bo_START_UP_IN_PROGRESS = 1 These never change, what ever I try, my guess it's stuck cause of thee FB_ERR which is active, but I have no idea why. ABenno Posts: 206 Rating: (22)	Hi TheKoen, did you check the diagnose buffer of the CPU? Do you have any messages there that point to the Siwarex FTC? Check the parameter ADDR this has to match with the start address of the Siwarex FTC in the HW-Config. The "DB_SCALE_FTC".b_FB_ERR_CODE = 8 indicates at Live bit error this can happen if the periphery access has a problem, see above. Sometimes it happens that the OB1 cycle is too short, then you should extend your CPU cycle to e.g. 10ms. "DB_SCALE_FTC".bo_START_UP_IN_PROGRESS = 1 indicates that the start up of the Siwarex FB has not finished,this can be also a periphery access problem or a data communication problem. Regards ABenno

Regards ABenno Hello ABenno, The diagnostic buffer of the CPU showed it could not write to it. I was outside the range indeed (n00b error :P), so I've corrected that. After the correction it still give me the same errors, so I move FB43 and FC30 to OB35. This got rid of the write errors, but FB43 still gives the same errors. The siwarex module it self gives me "External error: incoming event" errors (16# F960). I'll keep digging. Greetings, TheKoen

The GettingStarted you find here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/20072536/133100 Choose the one you need Beltscale/Loss in weight/TIA-Portal/Simatic Manager ... If this works you can start to rebuild you one program again and see were the problems start. Regards ABenno

Check if there is a bus connector andif all contacts are well contacted.... 2. 24V supply of the Siwarex FTC is missing. Check if any LED is on, if all LED's are off then the24V is not well connected. 3. You can also try to connect the Siwarex FTA directlybeside the CPU to check if there is an issue with the fieldbus components like IM153-x, bus cable and master.Be awarethe connectionviaCP3xxis not working. Regards ABenno ABenno, I've checked the backplane bus connector and it look ok. I'll try and swap it with another one to be sure. 24V is ok as I can access it from Siwatool, so that's ok. Connection it to the CPU directly is a bit of a challenge due to the test setup, however I can connect to another profinet rio station next to it without errors, so the profinet looks ok too. I did notice that the ET200M RIO station is version 4.0.6 and not 3 as in my hardware config. Worth a try to update that, which I am currently working on. Greetings, TheKoen.

In my hardware config I have selected: 153-4AB00-0XB0 HFV3.0 but, after looking in the electrical cabinet it showed 153-4AB00-0XB0 HF V4 (v4.0.3) So I've added the correct version (after a gsd update) in my hardware config, but now it doesn't allow me to select the FTC cards ... arrgggg. Not the same family it says. I've tried to install the FTC HSP file again, but no luck. now what?

ABenno Posts: 206 Rating: (22)	Hi TheKeon, it is important to install the HSP of the IM153 with Options/Install HW Updates. If you integrate the IM153 you have to take the following path PROFINET IO/"I/O"/ET 200M/IM 153-4 PN HF V4.0. You must not take it from .../ET 200M/GSD/... Either you should take the ...
