To your question:

You can use either the Gross weight or the Net weight to calculate the decreasing of the weight.

It's the same result.

But it is not necessary that you use the PID-controller and the Gross weight or the Net weight.

The FTC Loss in weight handles the calculation itself.

You need only to contact a freqeuncy converter to the Analogue Output of the FTC module.
