I installed PCS7 V7.1 SP1 by Customer a few years ago.

Each year I updated PCS7 system Service Packs ->2->3->4.

With PCS7 V7.1 SP4 response time of opening screens and APL faceplates was correct (max. 2sec.)

Now, after upgrading system PCS7 to version V8.0 SP1 response time of opening screens and APL faceplates is about (max. 4-6 sec.). - without any project/application changes

Below my PCS7 system configuration:

2x Redundant OS Servers Pairs;

1x Redundant CAS Servers;

20x OS Clients;

2x AS417-4H (CPU V4.5) Bundles

I tested:

Slow faceplates response time is because of AS-H efficiency.

1. When I changed it to Solo Mode, faceplates response time is much better!

My question is:

Why after PCS upgrade from version 7.1 SP4 to V8.0 SP1, the CPUs 417–4H [6ES7 417–4HT14–0AB0] are not sufficient enough (any more)?
It looks from Customer side like, he has to exchange/buy CPUs from V4.5.6 to V6.0.x

I wait for any suggestion...

Hi,

Slow response might due to too many scripts execution or cyclic execution. 

To verify: 

1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86) \Siemens\WinCC\uTools -> apdiag.exe

2. Output windows -> Open

3. Activate your wincc runtime, check script error "OnErrorExecute" 

4. Check error page by page.

Check also the dynamic tag execution, ensure tags set to "Upon Change Only" or "picture cycle " Change. If you use Standard cycle, then the execution will cause a slow down on HMI navigation. 

Ensure maximum 50 dynamic block icons on each screens. Too much block icons could cause slow response or the worst case can cause script ActionOverflow (More than 10000 Actions to work), then lead to Script EndAct eventually.
