Slvc for hoisting application with G120 drive

Dear supporter

I am using these device for my hoisting application :

- Motor : 37kw from siemens

- drive : pm240 55kw with Cu250s2 and braking resistor 8r (80kwpk 40kw const)

When i use slvc for my application i had problem that fault overspeed f7901 . drive triped suddenly. 

Iread on manual that set p219 then set disable vdc_max controller

After that set p1531=-p219 (the power regenerator=-power of braking register )

But p1531 now is 57.47kw. So if i disable vdc_max controller then increase p1531, what happen with my drive? May it will damage my drive

Hello,

you have to consider the actual capabilities of your braking resistor. You can protect the resistor by connecting the thermal switch to the inverter.
Basically it makes no sense, to increase only p1531, because you are enabling more regenerative power, than your resistor can possibly consume, so you can end again in an overvoltage fault. When you are using a braking resistor, p219 should have the same value like p1531, just with negative sign.
