Hello I have a customer that wants to have remote access to a TP1200 Comfort HMI (v. 15) from his PC, so that he dont have to go down to the HMI everytime he wants to do something. I think I found a solution with Sm@rtServer and Sm@rtClient, but I dont know if i have understood it correct. I configure the Sm@rtServer on the HMI. I download Sm@rtClient from Siemens to the costumers PC. I connect the PC to the HMI with ethernet cable, and put in the IP-adress in the Sm@rtClient. Then it should be online. Is this correct. I also have a question. Is Sm@rtClient a free software to download? No need for licens key? When you are connected, can you then put in the IP-adress in a browser, instead of using the Sm@rtClient? Best regards Azkaban |

Yes you are right with your understanding. It is not always necessary to connect the PC with Ethernet cable, if you had connected the HMI to the wireless router. You can also go wireless. It depends on configuration though. Yes Smart Client setup file is free. no need of license. For using IP address in browser, you need to use internet explorer with Java enabled. It works sometimes, because for me it didn't work as i expected even though i had Java enabled. You can enter the IP and Port in browser of IE and see whether it works. It is just my experience i am sharing. You can try. Thanks, Jay
