Im working at a customer site where they are using Fail safe SM336 analog inputs (6ES7336-4GE00-0AB0).They are experiencing RAM error faults on three cards that are in the same IO rack next to each other. The analog inputs come from a converter which converts a 0-10V signal from a linear potentiometer to a 4-20mA signal that goes to the SM336. The converter were connected as 4-wire transducers with an external supply. The ram errors do not occur regularly and it can take up to a week for one to manifest. The customer has swapped around the cards with no improvement. Yesterday we wired two of the cards as per manual recommendation and placed a jumper between the converter supply2M connection and SM card 1M connection. On the third SM card we wired the converter to use the internal sensor supply from the SM336 card. So far everything is working fine but like i said, this issue manifests itselfon an irregular basis so now im just waiting to see if it will fault out again.I would appreciate any additional advice as to what else i could try to do to eliminate the RAM error. Im also attaching some pictures of the converter and the wiring that we have implemented. Thanks AttachmentC:\Documents and Settings\Kapikx\My Documents\Varian\SM336.zip (159 Downloads) |
