Hi. We need a cheap solution for gathering some data. The system need to be able to speak TCP/IP with a datasystem and we will connect two enoders, one analog input and about 10 digital input to it. The input DATA will be sent via TCP/IP to the DATA-system (PC). We want to use TIA-portal for the programming, what system can be a good choise?

Where do the data come from?

Why do you want to use a PLC for it?

When it is just for gathering data, where ever they come from, you can use the smallest S7-1200, a S7-1212. I guess you also want a PLC that receives the data or values on any way over inputs and outputs. this is a point that also have to fit your requirements.

I've been looking at 6ES7511-1CK01-0AB0. What i cant understand is if i have to buy a Communication modul to get communication to out PC?

S7-1500 PLCs have all an PN-interface. This can be used as Industrial Ethernet interface to communicate over TCP, ISO on TCP or UDP with Open User Communication blocks.

But it also depends on your PC and its interfaces, which other communication is maybe also possible.
