Smart line module 5kw leds

Davinator Gold Member Joined: 1/4/2013 Last visit: 9/29/2024 Posts: 1127 Rating: (102)	Hello, I have a problem with a smart line module 5kw with a d425-2 and 5 sinamics connected. Machine worked for a certain period without problem. Then both leds of the SLM (smart line module) become orange (normally they are green and orange and everything is fine). I have checked 6 times the EP signal and it's stable at 24 VDC. The AC power is present below and tested. All the X21 and X22 signals are ok (so the reset input is connected, the +24 and gnd and 0V are connected and checked). But both leds (RDY and DC-LINK) are Orange (fixed, not blinking or changing colors). This is teh situation that appears at the beginning, when machine is powered on and remains. Clearly my system (D425-2) does not run because I trap the errors from the Warning and Alarm outputs (X21) from the SLM. The SLM is NOT linked with DriveCliq or other buses. Any idea ? Could the SLM be broken ?

DenisMor Posts: 344 Rating: (50)	The line module is not pre-charging. With all external factors checked (EP terminals, all AC phases check out) it appears that the module is defective. Is the ready signal X21.1 interconnected to P864 (Infeed ready) in each drive? An improper interlock between Infeed and motor modules will allow them to draw current from the bus during the pre-charge cycle damaging a pre-charging resistor. It is possible to duplicate this interlock in Simotion, but you have to be careful with the logic. Other than that could be just a random failure.

Well, the X21.1 is connected to an ET200s and my simotion reads that input and generates an alarm that does not allow the machine to operate (Smart line alarm/warning). There is no interconnection between drives and this signal. I have also tried to remove the X21.1 and X21.2 (the warning and the alarm) but the situation remains the same. I have forced the +24VDC on the EP terminal (instead of using the standard auxiliary contact of the main power switch) but same situation. In the past it happened that for some electrical reasons the EP didn't have the +24 V and the situation was the same (both leds orange), but in those cases the solution was very smart and direct. Here I don't know what to do... So probably the unit is defective ? Isn't there any other method to diagnose a problem ? Thanks in advance

The main question is : without DriveCliq communication, without any strange options/features... Everything should work when you have EP and power... There aren't many other options or things that could generate a failure... Plus this machine worked for a certain period (now it's in India). Regards

DenisMor Posts: 344 Rating: (50)	As suggested above, give the hotline a call. They will help confirm the problem. One other thing you can do is pull the line module out, connect it to an alternate known good AC connection and a 24V supply for X24 and X21. It will be disconnected from motor modules at that point isolating the problem to the module itself. Post it the hotline has other ideas as well. On the system wiring, typically what is recommended is taking the X21.1 signal and wiring it to one of the onboard inputs of the Simotion controller (and Sinamics controllers if there are additional ones). Then in Sinamics logic parameter P864 is interconnected directly to that input. It is more deterministic this way and ensures that a motor module never operates with line module disabled.

Since the UVW are at 400V and since even if the EP could have a problem the power supply MUST generate something in the DC Bus stage. But this does not happens. Thus the SLM is broken. It's the first after like 50 machines, amen. Thanks for the support.
