Smart sensor which can calculate vibration, temperature and RPM of motor

Dear experts,

I am in search of SIEMENS smart/compact sensor which can calculate the temperature and Vibration like the available in ABB brand.

Siemens has a special division named Condition Monitoring Services, which offers a vibration and temperature monitoring system for motors, either as an add-on to the(Siemens)  motor part number, or as a stand-alone unit.

Dear Dchartier,

As per my understanding with the CMS system study, it is a monitoring system in which you have to add separate vibration and temperature sensors to monitor the system and integrate it with your cloud.

While i am in search of a compact sensor box which do both jobs vibration monitoring and temperature sensing. We just have to install one box on the body and it gives the details to the cloud. As previously explained ABB has a smart sensor box which fits to the body of the motor and gives the values of temperature and vibration. It also gives the RPM and KW of the motor on calculation base.

So in SIEMENS is there any sensor box available like that?

Not that I know of, maybe someone else on the forum can offer another idea.

Note that we forum members are not Siemens employees (mostly), and we work with Siemens controllers because we have experience on them and like the products, generally. Most of us also work on other systems, basically because of client requirements, and we can see advantages and disadvantages of their products and systems.

If the ABB monitoring system works for you, as a one-size-fits-all system, go right ahead and use it, and bless you! If others feel the need for placing and installing vibration and temperature monitors individually because their experience tells them that this is the best way to obtain good readings, let them choose Siemens or other manufacturers' offerings.

You asked if Siemens proposed something similar to the ABB monitor, the answer is yes, and you can have a look at it. Other well-known  manufacturers offer similar products, such as Hioneywell, Dynapar, Balluff, even Fluke. But we will not debate with you which one firs best your project, that is your job to evaluate them.
