I face the same issue with SmartServer but for KTP400 basic. 

I am using the latest version of TIA ( V 17 ) but for few days Smart Server is stopping.

in the mean time  are some solution  like for comfort to be able to stop/start Smart Server form script ??

Any ideea to solve this.

Sm@rtServer functionality is not intended/designed to be active for many hours, I'm afraid.

The correct use of this option is fundamentally for maintenance tasks. For example, establishing the connection from the Sm@rtClient, modifying the value of some tags, viewing some trends, etc. and then close the connection.

Could this be what is really happening?

 There is a bug that is known by SIEMENS and will be never solved due to next generation of HMI is already here. 

For Comfort Panel/HMI is running better and you have the option to stop /start from Scheduled task , so will be minimal impact of stopping @Smart server.

Smart server  should run 24/7  for it purpose.
