Hi, I'm writing a VBS script in a comfort panel to read tags and write them in file.

I'm simulating it and I found that SmartTag function is reading PLC values from cache. It is possible to force script reading values from PLC and not from cache like (1) parameter of Tags method in WInCC?

I am not sure what you meaning when talking about "Cache".

Perhaps you try first to set tag properties to "read continuously" instead of "read on demand".

Guessing -

Look at the declaration of your tags in the HMI. One of the parameters is the update rate. Have a look at your options. Either make the duration shorter or have another tag force it to update.

Thanks for your replay. I mean cache as the opposite of device, so read cycle is managed automatically by communication driver instead of by user request.

With some other tests i found issue...

If in script I write this:
SmartTags("My_Tag")  --> I get right value

If in script I write this:
tag = "My_Tag"
SmartTags(tag)  --> I get value = 0

In both cases My_Tag is "Cyclic in operation".. Is it possible to make the second code working without changing this setting?
