I am trying to establish UDP connection between 315-2 PN/DP and SCALANCE XR324-12M.

I am reffering to this library: Monitoring and Control of Network Components with a SIMATIC S7-PN CPU with the aid of SNMP

I am not able to understand how to get the right connection parameters:

Should I use OpenCommWizard for configuring connection between the CPU and the switch?

why do you want to establish an UDP-connection?

why don´t you use the application sample from the entry you posted?

There is also a documentation of application sample, where everything is explained.

SNMP uses UDP (and not TCP).
The PLC will act as a client and initiates SNMP requests for reading/writing switch settings.
The switch is acting as a server in this context.
The PLC
- is using its local port as source port. My be chosen but must be unique PLC wide.
- and the remote port UDP 161 as destination port
  (the UDP port the switch is listening too for SNMP requests is port UDP 161 by default).

The sample is based on a so called "programmed connection" using the block TCON internally.
All connection data is part of the CPU program and located in a Data Block.
And therefore you will not find any "configured connection".

The HW ID refers to the PN port of the CPU (which is 1 for an ET200S PN-CPU, 2 for 315/317PN, and 3 for 319)

The connection ID can be chosen between 1 and 4095, but it must be unique PLC wide
(if you would access several switches, it might be necessary to configure several connections, and each conenction would have its own ID). If your program has other open TCP/UDP IE connections, the ID must not overlap.

The problem was in remote port (switch port). I had it set with value 16#7D0 - same as local.

Once I made it to 16#A1, communication started.

As for why I do not use the example: Example is for S7-1500 on TIA. I need it to work with S7-300 CPU.
