Softnet PN IO & OPC Server & ET200S PN151-3 problem

fradacsy Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi everybody. I need your help in a communication/configuration problem. We have a PC with Windows 2003 server installed on it. It has a normal NIC. We have Step7 V5.4.4.0 installed. And we also installed SIMATIC NET PC software Edition 2006, which installs Softnet PN IO 6.4, and as I know OPC Server 6.4. We have the necessary licenses for these. We have a Remote IO ET200S PN151-3 (6ES7 151-3AA23-0AB0). We want to reach this RIO by OPC. So we started to configure the necessary thing in HW Config. Firstwe created a PC station.Then added a IE General to the first slot. Doing this I noticed that I do not have the version of 6.4, but 6.2.1. I do not understand why, because everything is installed. So I was forced to use the version of 6.2.1. Then I added OPC server to slot 2. The selectable OPC Server version from catalog is 7.0. I choosed that. Then later when I tried to download I realized that I have OPC server installed from SIMATIC NET PC software is 6.4 (There was an error message). So I eventually picked out version 6.4.Then I set The IE General. I Set the same IP that I use in windows. I enabled IO controller, OPC server was set by automatically in the combo box. Then in Station manager I imported the configuration. In HW config I compiled the configuration and downloaded it. There were no error messages. I ran a PN topology scan in Netpro. But the IE general was in red (error). However at Offline/Online Comparison The NIC is found in orange color, and when I try to assign it says in an error message that the types are different.This is my second problem.Continuing HW configuration I tried to attach the Remote IO to the network, but I got an error message, that the ET200S has extended Profinet diagnostic and the IO controller must have this also. I checked help. It says that I Should upgrade IO controller. But I cannot do this. I have version 6.4 but I can choose only 6.2.1 from catalog. The other possibility is to modify the GSD of the RIO. Thus I did So. I removed the two ports and interface. After this I was able to connect it to the network. Compile and download were successful. But the ET200S BF LED is blinking red.This is my third problem. What am I doing wrong. I try to attach some screenshots of my configuration. The IE General module is a placeholder, it did not change since the V 6.2.1 so there will not be a newer version as it is not necessary. But the OPC Server you use is installed as a V 6.4, so you may use this also and not the older 6.2.1 version. About the diagnostics you will find at: Which PROFINET nodes support the extended PN diagnostics and what do you have to configure? a nice FAQ that tells you the issue and the why and what about this change in the feature. The OPC Server as Controller does not support the extended Diagnostics so you either have to use a GSDML file that supports the "older" version of the IM or you have to use another IM that does not support this feature. If we check at: PROFINET GSD files : ET 200S you will find the latest version of the GSDML file but this should be already part of your STEP 7 V 5.4 SP 4 installation. What I think that should work is to use a IM 151-3 PN 3AA20 instead because this version did not support port diagnostics, but I am not sure about it. About your problem with the XDB import I wonder how it works if you use the "standard" way by loading the HW Config to the already configured Component Configurator? Did you try this already? I have already read the article before, but thanks for the tip. About GSDML. I modified the same GSDML you suggested, And I used the type you mentioned as a template. So I removed the rows corresponding to Interface and the two ports. If you check the file you will find the same was done about is the type (3AA20) you mentioned, because it can be found twice in GSDML, first V3.0 and V4.0. So what I modified must work. To answer your questions I need to give you a little explanation: The configuration mentioned in my first post is located somewhere in Sweden, installed by other people. I am trying to give them some sort of support because I have more experience in Siemens systems than they have. Until now I have been working on S7-300 PLCs mainly. This is my first application of the kind I described previously. I use their station remotely, and meanwhile I found that they do not have two licenses (SoftNet PN IO and OPC) that I was presumed they had. So I looked for another way of testing until they will get their licenses. So I created a new configuration at our office in Hungary. In here I got all the necessary licenses. This time I did not forget to check. In here I do not have ET200S, but have S7 300 PLC with CPU 317 2PN/DP (6ES7 317-2EK13-0AB0) and CP343-1 Lean (343-1CX10-0XE0). I built the hardware, made the configuration, downloaded it, but no success. This time I use Windows XP SP3, Siemens Step7 V5.4.5.0, OPC 6.4, Softnet PN IO 6.4. In the begining I only configured IE General and OPC, and downloaded it. But at Profinet topology scan it has error. Can the reason be that OPC does not support extended diagnostic as you mentioned? What do you mean by saying Component Configurator? You think of Station configuration? At Station Configurator, I tried the import method without error, and the manual method, too. But I can do it only on the PC with XP, on the PC with Server 2003 the add button is inactive, there I could only use the import method. I do not know why? Perhaps because of the lack of licenses? Could you give me some tips to this new configuration. How to configure the PLC and PC station exactly? I would be grateful if you could send me HWConfig Export, or screenshots? Best regards fradacsy

Maybe I have a simple FAQ to help you to get the PROFINET IO System to work you have right now. Please try this FAQ: How do you configure a PC station as PROFINET IO controller for connecting to a S7 station (as PROFINET IO device) for the SIMATIC NET OPC server with the SIMATIC NET PC software? I attach my project, will you please take a look at it. BF LED on CP343-1Lean is still blinking. CPU 315 is recognizedat topology scan (green), but IE general is orange.
