Hello,

Does anyone had experience this error when loading the project file in the "Softnet security client V4 HF1"? "There was a error parsing the project file (...) Return Code: 0xffffffff"

By default when you click on "Load configuration" button, the selected "Files of type" is *.dat.

If I select "All files" instead and select an other type of file, I get the same error.

I think there is something wrong with my *.dat file, but cannot figure what I did wrong with the "Security configuration tool V4.2".

Is the computer with the configuratin Tool and the Client the same one?

Do you set a Password when you do the loading of the Konfiguration Data to  the *.dat File?

Do you input the correct Password when you loaded the *.dat File into the Client Application? Or is there no Input Field for Password?

First of all, thanks for the reply, I really appreciate.

I did many tests yesterday.

If I do a SCT project with a S612 and SSC, I am able to load the configuration into SSC.

That does not solve my issue, but at least I can say SSC is OK.

If I do a SCT project with SSC and M874 as I need to do, I get the error.

[Answer] Yes and I also tried on a second computer with SSC and SCT and still get the same error on both computer.

[Answer] In SCT I set a password for the M874-3 and the SSC.

If I don't do so, the password of the SCT project is set to both devices certificates.

Usually, when I load the configuration into SSC, I can see the configuration loading and then I get a pop-up where I need to insert the password.

Currently, I can see the loading of the config, but the error pops and I don't go further.

[Answer] I don't go to this point as mention before, but in the M874-3 there is a password tab where I enter the password and I am able to load the certificate successfully.

I opened a support request with Siemens USA and here is what they told me.

I did some testing this afternoon and I found the line in the DAT file that causes the error. That DAT file is just a text file and you can make changes with notepad. I don't have a M874 to test, but if I look for and remove the line # 37:

<group2>2</group2>

I can import the file without error.

At this point I'm not sure if the VPN connection will work without this line or what is wrong with this line.

Do you have the hardware already setup to test if this works? If not let me know so I can think about something.

I probably will contact my HQ about this tomorrow, but I don't expect an answer this soon.

So, I did remove the line "<group2>2</group2>" and it totally works.

Hi everyone,

I had the same problem with an S612 and an SSC. After some tries and some injuries and thanks to Hugo I'll have the solution that is similar of the other one. 

In pratical the problem was related not even the String

<Group2><Group2>

but also in the first part the group number must be 2.

In my case software put this value automatical to 14 and that get this error.
