1-You can upload the backup"image"file from panel to PC with ProSave software.

This backup file is not editable and restore to the same type of panel.

back to your question, you want a software of operator panel OP-17DP "6AV3 617-1JC20-0AX1" to upload the program from pc to plc

Program of OP is different than the program of PLC.

If you would like to download program to PLC, please tell us type of it and we can help and tell you which software and adapter you have to use.

If you would like to upload program from OP17, you can only upload an image (non-edittable) using a freeware software called "Prosave" and you can download it from the link provided by "Online Tech"

You can use cable "6XV1440-2K.."; its pin assignment is here or using right angle adapter (1:1) according to the attached excel sheet.

Using cross RS-232 cable (or what we called Null-Modem cable) is not listed in the cables used for downloading or uploading of OP17.

And also Protool Pro is the configuration software we use to develop projects for OPs like OP17. You can not use it to upload an image from it.

Another important note, when you are ready to upload the image, you should prepare the OP to transfer mode by pressing ESC + UP Arrow keys together during powering up the OP.

 Hi ,I meet the same trouble,with the op17-dp, the Protool version is 6.0 sp2 or sp3 ,and there is no device  op17-dp can be selected in the software. only the op17 device with rs232 is available.

The old device display and keys was broken, It is used for maintenance .

I don't know how to download the program.
