SOFTWARE REDUNDANCY HELP

I am first time doing software redundancy in S7-300.I have taken cpu 315-2 dp & ET 200M using IM 153-2 ....NOw my question is 1) When i receive bundle for pair of IM 153-2 , it has one Activ backplane module provided for the connection of two IM 153-2..Am i right? Now what i understand is, if i want to go for hot swapping of I/O modules, then i need this active backplane module for IM & for I/O Modules also... But if i dont want to go for Hot swapping option,thenis it mandatory to connect IM 153-2 to this active bus module or i can use the normal bus connector which comes with signal modules for connection to normal DIN RAIL...Means if i dont want to do the hot swapping ,can i use normal DIN RAIL,Normal bus connectors for my configuration?

Hello patel, Short Answer: Using active bus is mandatory with redundancy. Detailed Answer: When you order the Redbundle, you recieve two IM153-2 and one bus unit IM/IM. Each IM should be mounted on the bus unit and conneceted to one CPU. So, the bus unit mission is not only handling hot-swapping function, but also connection to the active CPU. Moreover, Not all S7-300 CPUs support hot-swapping function. It's allowed only for high end S7-300 CPUs and S7-400 CPUs. Thus because, you will need to download OB83 (for Insert / remove). And this OB is not available for most S7-300 CPUs. Which organization blocks do you need for error handling? For you case (CPU315-2DP), It does not support OB83. Hope this helps.
