Sort program blocks by Type and Number

Thanks If you create groups and put the FBs/FCs/DBs into the groups, you can name the groups to the order you want them to appear. The groups will appear alphabetically by name. The OBs in the main tree show up in the order of processing priority, so this is a little helpful. I found for some versions of the portal software, adding an OB to a group suddenly prevents it from actually running. FCs and FBs show up on the project tree in the order of their assigned number. In groups, the FBs/FCs appear alphabetically which is different than how they appear in the main project tree outside a group. Interesting also is the documentation does not tell you these behaviors are guaranteed, so anything you do for V11 may get undone in V12.

Now you have to enter required FB/FC/DB number. After entering press "Enter" and this will open up the required block and will also highlight it under project tree. Method-2 Also relevant FAQ is : How do you sort the blocks in absolute block number order in STEP 7 (TIA Portal)? Opening project overview by keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+2" and then by quickly browsing to required number of FB/FC/DB is faster then trying to find the same block in project tree. Simatic manager rocks while TIA sucks..

Andy1899 Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Is there a way to group the FBs/FCs/OBs by their respective number as they show up in the groups folders that I have created? As opposed to alphabetical order as shown in the image attached? For example I want OB1 OB35 OB80 OB82 I am a bit OCD when it comes to organizing, but not really a big deal.
