Another notice, You have a fault tollerent system. Normally for H-Systems, both racks should be the same even with same firmware. Please take care not toput CP 443-1EX20 in a rack and a CP 443-1EX30 in the other rack.

It means that if I want to have spare kit for rack in fault-tolerant system I must

1) purchase obsolete model, similar to another rack

OR

2) purchase two new models to change both?

Indeed, as specified in the SIMATIC Fault-tolerant systems S7-400H manual:

"The hardware configuration in both subsystems of a fault-tolerant systemmustbe identical. This applies in particular to the slots."
